Décor Tricks (part 1)

Decorating doesn’t have to mean forking out for a completely new look. Here a simple trick that can make all the difference :

• Pick a favorite object. Use it as inspiration for the colour of your soft furnishings. It could be a vase, painting or even a piece of clothing, but just make a sure that it’s something you’re passionate about


• Don’t be afraid to use colour. Avoid designs that you could tire or quickly. Make sure its something you really can put up with.


• Pick fabrics you really like. Gather lots of swatches and live with them for a while before you actually buy the fabric. Pin the swatches up at the windows and put sample on your furniture to see how they look at different times of the day.


• Don’t be afraid to experiment with patterns. Pretty floral motifs, springs and subtle patterned designs can create a more homely feel. Just make sure you don’t overcrowd the room and make it too fussy
